BUCKHANNON (Satirical) - The City Council of Buckhannon entertained the community during their September 35th council meeting by showcasing their talents in the first-ever 'City Council Sing-Off'.


After searching everywhere for city attorney (and official sing-off adjudicator) Tom O'Neill, council members were finally able to locate him virtually to begin the competition:


Mayor Robbie Skinner enlisted vocal help from City Recorder Randy Sanders and Councilman Jack Reger for the first mind-blowing performance of the evening:


Not to be outdone by the Mayor and his impeccable trio, Councilwoman Pam Bucklew and Councilman David McCauley stunned the crowd as Councilman Reger joined in unexpectedly with a break-out performance of this popular Haddaway song:


Ultimately, City Councilman Dave Thomas decided to go solo with his jaw-dropping vocalise of this popular chart-topping arrangement, winning Grand-Champion in the first-ever city council sing-off event:



Congratulations to Councilman Dave Thomas for his show-stopping performance! In addition to winning the title of Grand Champion, he also received a $2 gift certificate from CJ Maggie's and a frosty coupon from Wendy's.


We look forward to the next official sing-off event around this time last year!
