BUCKHANNON - At the January 19th Buckhannon City Council meeting, a letter of request from the Upshur County Board of Education for assistance in the demolition at 11 E Victoria Street was approved unanimously by Council, allowing for the authorization and execution of a letter agreement. Jeffrey Perkins, Treasurer with the Upshur County Board of Education was in attendance.

Mayor Robbie Skinner began by addressing Council:

"As you'll recall, we have approved the demolition of 9 E Victoria Street. It would be my recommendation that we go ahead and assist with 11 E Victoria Street, which is right next door - also a property that they (Upshur County Board of Education) have acquired - and that would just clean up that corner there... where you turn to go into the bus loop of the Academy school," Skinner said.
