BUCKHANNON – During the December 15, 2022 Upshur County Commission meeting, a new committee was formed by the Commission to review and evaluate several master plan proposals that were received for the future Upshur County Recreational Complex. Several firms throughout West Virginia and Pennsylvania submitted proposals for consideration.

Once all proposals received are reviewed and discussed, the newly formed committee will be tasked with narrowing down three firms to interview. The final decision will be based on the overall opinions of the review committee.

Watch Upshur County Administrator Tabatha Perry announce the firms who had submitted proposals that were received by the December 9, 2022 deadline:

In addition to Commissioners Sam Nolte, Kristie Tenney and Doug Bush, the Commission unanimously voted to include Jeremiah McCourt and Mitchell Shaw of the Upshur County Recreation facilities to serve on the newly formed committee.

The firm that is ultimately selected by the review committee will create a master plan for the future Upshur County Recreational Complex, which is to be built on the 70.87 acres of land donated by the J.F. Allen Company earlier this year.

Watch Upshur County Commission vote unanimously to form a review committee to consist of all three County Commissioners, as well as Jeremiah McCourt and Mitchell Shaw:
