BUCKHANNON (WVWC - Mountaineer News) - The Bobcat Dance Team celebrated a remarkable achievement upon their return to campus following their second-place finish at the National Dance Alliance Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships in Daytona, Florida.

The City of Buckhannon provided a police escort to enhance the triumphant occasion as a crowd of supporters greeted the team.

The Bobcats competed in the Division II team performance category, requiring a multifaceted display of jazz, pop, and hip-hop dance styles. Known as the most demanding category of the competition, the team's outstanding performance was all the more impressive.

The NCA/NDA championship is the largest event of its kind worldwide, and the Bobcat Dance Team competed against seven other universities from across the United States.

Credit goes to the team's head coach, Lesa Dencklau, for leading and guiding the Bobcats to their near victory. Her leadership inspired the West Virginia Wesleyan Dance Team to give their all and secure second place.

The Bobcat Dance Team deserves every congratulation for their exceptional performance, bringing pride to themselves, their institution, and their community.
