BUCKHANNON - A National Weather Service SKYWARN spotter class will be held Tuesday, September 13th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Buckhannon Public Safety complex at 24 South Florida Street in Buckhannon.


This class is open to the public and is free of charge.


SKYWARN spotters VOLUNTEER to become the "eyes and ears" of the National Weather Service spotters SERVE THEIR COMMUNITY by acting as a valuable source of information when dangerous storms approach.


During this in person training session, a National Weather Service meteorologist will teach you how to properly identify and Report significant weather events that have an impact on the safety of YOUR community, such as damaging winds, flooding, tornadoes, ice and snow.


We will also discuss the severe weather history of our region how to stay safe and severe weather and how to receive and interpret weather information.
