Vintage Buckhannon
This week, it's another DOUBLE-SHOT exclusive straight out of the Vintage Buckhannon Vault.
Photo 1:
Buckhannon High School and Gymnasium Postcard, circa 1938
Buckhannon High School opened in the old East Main Street School Building in 1886. The school continued to thrive, and in 1908 a modern brick building was constructed on College Avenue, depicted on this postcard from circa 1938.
Today, while the old high school building no longer stands, its legacy endures. Academy Elementary School now sits in its place while the historic gymnasium remains.
Photo 2:
West Virginia Wesleyan College, circa 1910s
This rare photo postcard shows what the entrance to West Virginia Wesleyan College looked like in the 1910s.
