ICYMI: Upshur County Schools Begin School Specific Active Shooter Response Training

UPSHUR COUNTY - Upshur County Schools began holding school specific training for active shooter response for all nine of its county schools, beginning with Buckhannon-Academy Elementary School this past Friday, September 23rd.

As a reminder, staff are expected to attend the training session, but officials stated that students will not attend school on the exercise day for their respective school.

Officials said the training is part of the ongoing effort to support the safety of the students and staff. The following are the upcoming scheduled dates for training:

September 30, 2022: Tennerton Elementary School

October 3, 2022: French Creek Elementary School

October 10, 2022: Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School

October 13, 2022: Rock Cave Elementary School

October 17, 2022: Buckhannon-Upshur High School

October 28, 2022: Hodgesville Elementary School

November 4, 2022: Washington District Elementary School

November 7, 2022: Union Elementary School
