BUCKHANNON - The Upshur County Schools excess levy will not continue after the current levy expires in July of 2024.
The levy provided Upshur County Schools with instructional materials, technology, contracted services, PRO Officers, tech services and extracurricular bus trips.
Upshur County Public Library received $100,000 each year from the levy, and other programs provided by the 4-H Extension Office and Stockert Youth and Community Center will be affected... programs that are vital for our students and our children.
With 20 of 20 precincts reporting, 2,998 voted for the levy with 3,164 voting against.
The levy would not have increased taxes by a single cent.
