This week, it's another DOUBLE-SHOT exclusive straight out of the Vintage Buckhannon Vault.

The Euphemian Theatre, 1925

Today, we all know it as the Colonial Theatre. But when this image was captured in 1925, the Euphemian Theatre had been open for less than a year (built in 1924) and was under the management of O.M. White.

In 1930, the property was purchased by Garland West and it became the Colonial Theatre until 1966; The building underwent two major renovations during West's ownership.

Gray Barker took over management of the cinema in the early 1970s and renamed it The Cinema V (Barker is a noted UFO author and enthusiast who passed away in 1984).

In January 2017, the City of Buckhannon created an ordinance authorizing its purchase and acquired the property.

This rare postcard from 1909 depicts an eastward view of Main Street.
