This week, it's another DOUBLE-SHOT exclusive straight out of the Vintage Buckhannon Vault.


Photo 1: Across from the Old Mill - c. 1915

The Anchor Flour Mill -aka- The Old Mill as seen c. 1915. The photograph was taken from what is now WV Split Rail's property looking across the river toward Island Avenue. It was owned by Daniel D.T. Farnsworth, who owned stock in several business ventures here in Buckhannon.


The Old Mill was located just off the bridge across from North Buckhannon River Front Park on Island Avenue (formerly Water Street).

Fishing from the Dam - c. 1925

This rare, real photo postcard from c. 1925 depicts a man fishing along the Buckhannon River Dam while a little boy looks back at the photographer; The photo was taken on the banks of Island Avenue where the Old Mill stood, looking southward toward what is currently WV Split Rail's property.
