The Spirit of Buckhannon's Sundays

Buckhannon, oh Buckhannon,

A town with stories to tell.

Of Sundays past and present,

Where history has surely dwelled.

In times of old, church bells rang,

And folks would gather 'round.

To hear the preacher's sermon,

And to lift their voices in sound.

After church, families would feast,

On a meal made with love and care.

And then they'd take a leisurely stroll,

In the crisp and refreshing air.

Some would attend a ballgame,

Cheering on their team with pride.

While others would take a nap,

Or simply enjoy a countryside ride.

But Sundays weren't just for leisure,

They were also a time for reflection.

A chance to pause and give thanks,

For blessings, both big and small, in every direction.

And though times have surely changed,

And traditions may have evolved,

The spirit of Buckhannon's Sundays,

Endures and remains resolved.

So let us honor the Sundays of old,

And celebrate the present anew.

For Buckhannon, oh Buckhannon,

We cherish the memories of you.
