TENNERTON - Upshur County Schools have recently established a partnership with Pierpont Community and Technical College, providing students with an exceptional opportunity to earn a two-year college degree before graduating high school.

This program, named "1 Walk, 2 Degrees," enables students to embark on their academic journey toward a degree that will be useful in their future career path. Upon graduation from high school, students will earn both a high school diploma and an associate's degree in a field of their interest.

Throughout their high school years, students will work towards fulfilling general studies requirements that will be transferable towards a four-year degree program offered by Pierpont College.

The program not only benefits students but also their families given the high cost of education. Graduating students will have completed two years of college without incurring any cost whatsoever.

The associate degree earned through the program is transferable to state colleges, providing students with the opportunity to pursue further education. and is available to all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
