West Virginia Wesleyan College Welcomes Talented New Student Class for Orientation Activities

BUCKHANNON - On Saturday, August 20, West Virginia Wesleyan College will welcome new students for Orientation activities.


The talented new student class hails from 26 states and 16 foreign countries and boasts above a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.


The most popular majors among the new students include exercise science, business administration, pre-nursing, biology, criminal justice, general education, sport business, psychology, art, and education.


Among co-curricular activities, Wesleyan’s Division II Athletics programs and Community Service Scholars attracted tremendous interest.


The Orientation weekend has been revised as part of the College’s comprehensive Strategic Plan, focusing the programming on student success and preparation for collegiate studies.


The weekend includes numerous seminars and programs, The Bobcat Fair featuring a local business showcase, meals for families to interact with faculty and staff, and tremendous assistance by student ambassadors and residence hall assistants at the College.


Officials at the College are excited by the potential of the new student class.


John Waltz, Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing, remarked, “we are thrilled to welcome such a diverse and talented new student class. Their interests in athletics, community service, religious and spiritual life, creative and performing arts, and leadership will bring so much to our campus. Academically, they are poised to be very successful.
