CHARLESTON — WorkForce West Virginia announced a series of Statewide Virtual Job Fairs taking place Wednesday.

The event will be the first job fair in a series of fairs scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month throughout 2023.

“As we kick off our first Statewide Virtual Job Fair of 2023, we’re thrilled to continue the momentum of this event. In the past three months, we’ve see nearly 1,300 registered attendees and more than 350 registered employees,” said Scott Adkins, acting commissioner of WorkForce West Virginia. “These job fairs provide an amazing opportunity for residents to connect with open jobs with both West Virginia state agencies and employers in the nonprofit and private sectors.”

Employers and job seekers must register on the WorkForce website which features a Job Seeker Training video through the Job Fair portal and channels for attendees to register and log on.

“Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and have a calm, clutter-free background, as employees may request to engage in a video interview,” a press release from WorkForce said.

After registration, employers will create a “Virtual Booth” to connect with job seekers and after the event, the booth will still be available for future job fairs.

“Job seekers can speak with representatives from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation, The West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services and many others,” the release said.

The virtual event will be January 4th from noon to 3:00pm. For more information, visit workforce.wv.org or email workforcewvvirtualjobfairevent@wv.gov.
