WV SOS Mac Warner and Guests Address B-UHS Seniors to Discuss the Importance of Voter Registration

TENNERTON - West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner, with Jennings Randolph impersonator Lee Dean, and Upshur County Circuit Clerk Carol Smith presented information on voter registration to the Senior Class of B-UHS on Friday. They stressed the importance of registering to vote and voting in each election.


Secretary Warner has challenged the Class of 2023 to get at least 85% of the class registered this year to receive the Jennings Randolph Award.


Jennings Randolph was a United States Senator from Harrison County, WV. From 1942 to 1971, Senator Randolph fought to give 18-20 year old’s the right to vote. He is considered the Father of the 26th Amendment to the United States Constitution. The 26th Amendment was ratified in 1971 and gave all citizens 18-20 the right to vote in all nation elections.
