By: Kristen Harvey / Staff Writer with The Record Delta in Buckhannon, WV

BUCKHANNON — Sweet A Licious was happily welcomed back to the community at their grand re-opening held on Friday, April 15 at their new location, 21 Madison Street.

At about 10:45 a.m., there was a line waiting to go in for a sweet treat from the hometown favorite. Once the doors opened, patrons were greeted with smiling faces of owner Michelle Jack and her employees.

“It is just great to be back. It has been a long road,” Jack said, referring to the devastating fire on Main Street on Tuesday, October 5, which destroyed __ businesses.

Jack and her staff were quite busy and, despite having an issue with the register, they all tended to the crowd of customers with grace. Customers were also very patient and happy to have Sweet A Licious “home” once again.

Although the store is not offering soft serve right now, Sweet A Licious returned with many new treats. Among the new items are a “Lite and Tasty” drink made with yogurt, ice and sparkling water. “Lite and Tasty” is noted to be a reduced calorie treat averaging 125 calories. Sweet A Licious also features Via Veneto Italian ice that is both fat and cholesterol free. Flavors of Italian ice include mango, blue raspberry, strawberry banana and cotton candy. Blenjavas are another new staple, which combines ice cream, smoothie mix, milk and ice and is available in four flavors with Sweet a Licious stating, “Coffee and chocolate lovers, this is right down your alley.” In addition, the menu also offers both dairy and sugar free options. Sweet A Licious is also now offering items from Bonnie Bell.

Sweet A Licious is also providing a Bonnie Bell Bunny Cake give-away. The winner will be announced at 6 p.m. on April 16.

Sweet A Licious has a very welcoming atmosphere. The décor is bright and fun, offering a great back drop for photos. Candles and jewelry are also available for purchase. Stop by to welcome Sweet A Licious back to town and try a sweet treat!

Sweet A Licious is currently open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m. Jack and employees can be reached by calling (304) 878-1169.
